Introducing Gabriel Charlie, the muse of Brethra’s first collection.
Gabriel was not chosen lightly. While praying for someone who could carry the weight of what this collection represents, he was the first and only name that came to mind.
His journey reflects faith in its most honest form. Obedience.
A decision to uproot his life and step away from everything familiar. To leave behind comfort, routine, and certainty, trusting that God would meet him in the unknown. Trusting that he would be sustained. Trusting that the right people, the right community, would come.
That kind of decision is not easy. It rarely makes sense in the moment. It asks for everything before it gives anything back. Years later, Gabriel stands in a different place. Not just having endured the journey, but having seen the outworking of it. What once required faith now carries evidence. This is the foundation of the Genesis Collection. Genesis is more than a beginning. It is the moment you decide to move, even when you cannot see what is ahead. It is the tension between fear and conviction. It is choosing to step forward while still feeling unsure.
Each of the four pieces in this collection represents a part of that beginning. Not just the idea of it, but the lived experience of it. The uncertainty, the persistence, the repetition, and the peace that follows. Over the coming days, Gabriel’s journey will unfold through each piece. Some will recognise parts of their own story within it.Others may feel something shift. A quiet push toward something they have been putting off. A reminder that starting again is not weakness. It is courage. A Genesis is rarely comfortable. It can feel isolating. It can feel slow. It can feel like nothing is happening at all. But it can also be the most important decision you make. Now begins, The Genesis.
